April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is one of only a handful of female players of beach volleyball to be able to do so. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian and is set to join the team in Tokyo. In addition, Ross is aiming to capture her very first Olympic gold. This may be the last opportunity she gets at age 39. Her optimism is that she'll be successful in achieving top honours. If we do our highest or perform well, I think we'll win the gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. Therefore, I'm hoping to have some luck as well. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and her sister. She went on to compete in many sports at Newport Harbor High School. Being a pre-athlete she played indoor track and volleyball. While she did well at indoor volleyball but it was apparent that her abilities were higher than the average. Based on her bio, she played a middle blocker and outside volleyball player throughout her time in high school. The results of her efforts were acknowledged when she was named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions Players of the Year. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her for volleyball. Ross is working with Klineman from 2017, but Ross's beach game was well-established long before the year. It's true that she's been a winner of numerous major tournaments and one of them was an all-star volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to 2013. Together, Kessy Ross was a force in the world circuit, winning an international title in 2009. The pair eventually picked up an Olympic silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team to beat out for gold. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. Both went on to win the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross started her college professional career playing for the Trojans of USC in graduation from high school. It was a long time before Ross hit the sand and turned pro. Ross's time in the Trojans was remarkable. In 2000 she was named Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman Of The Year, and was also an All-American. She was also a key player to help the Trojans reach the Final Four. The second season of her career she suffered a devastating personal loss, yet managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. The last two years with the Trojans in the program they won victories by winning the national title in consecutive years. She had established her place as a legend by winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross who was who was a USC international relations major, was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross did not get to see Ross achieve beach volleyball's top level. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. In the aftermath, Ross continues to be close to her deceased parent. Margie remains an inspiration on and off of the shore.
