Aaliyah Dana Haaughton gained notoriety after she released her first album Age Ain't Nothing More Than an Number in 1994. The album was Gold at the age of fifteen years old. R. Kelly was a key influence on the collaboration which brought her into the limelight. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri as well as Timbaland on her sophomore studio album One In A Million, which featured the #1 hit track If Your Girl Only Knew. Aaliyah achieved international recognition for her R&B songs with the album. In 2000, she appeared in the romance and action movie Romeo Must Die alongside martial arts legend Jet-Li. Joel Silver, a film producer, who was attending an award show at the time she landed the role was able to spot her. The year 2002 was the time she was involved in the Anne Rice-produced horror film Queen of the Damned. The Matrix Sequels followed, with Zee as her character. Aarti Mann is from Indian origin and was born in Connecticut. Her stage name Mann is an abbreviation of her marital name Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar is her official name. She is also known as Aarti Magumdar for her stage name. Her acting career began in early 2000 with small parts in movies and TV. Some of her most notable roles include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. The actress also appeared in a variety of commercials, including Volvo and many other major car brands. She is a resident of Los Angeles where she continues to work as an actor.
