Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Dana Haughton exploded into fame in 1994, after she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing More Than a Number. The singer was only 15 at that time, and the album went on to become Gold. This collaboration was heavily inspired by R. Kelly, and helped put her onto the scene. In 1996, Jermaine and Timbaland made Aaliyah's album One In A Million. It featured If Your Girls Only Knew, the top-selling single. Aaliyah achieved international recognition for her R&B vocals with the release of this album. In 2000 she starred in the action and romance movie Romeo Must Die alongside martial artists Jet-Li. Joel Silver, film producer and director of the film Romeo Must Die, spotted her during an awards event. In 2002 she was part of the film vampire Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The Matrix Sequels saw her as Zee following her appearance as a character in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions that same year. Aarti Mann is the first generation Indian-American born in Connecticut. Her stage name Mann is a short form of her marriage name Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar, her official name, but she is also known as Aarti Magumdar for her stage name. Although she began with small TV and movie roles, her acting started to gain momentum around the turn of the century. In addition to The Big Bang Theory her most notable work includes Leverage (2012) Suits (2013) as well as Grey's Anatomy (2017). She has also been featured in commercials for big brands such as international automobile manufacturer Volvo. She currently lives at Los Angeles along with her wife, son and daughter. She also pursues her acting career.
